Shortbus Jo Wins CPL Monday Madness on Full Tilt!

In the first single game CPL Monday Madness event on Full Tilt, Shortbus Jo comes out on top of the 12 person field!

In a great match that had plenty of ups and downs for Shortbus Jo, she avoided catastrophe against Dudeman's quads and woke up with hands at the right time while playing her normal aggressive style of online poker!

After evading death....she got a solid chip stack and it was all over as she pored on the aggression and whittled away the competition.  Including a 2 hand heads up match against Lokimon! Congrats Shortbus Jo!

CPL Honorable mention goes to Lokimon who picked up the only hand he will play (A-A) a few times during the match and slept his way to the top 4.  From here Lokimon woke up and started taking some chances (like with A-K).  A great finish for Lokimon!

3rd place goes to Dudeman1228 who just keeps finishing in the money week after week!

Next week during the CPL Monday Madness....Pot Limit HA!!

See ya then!

Directors Take Top Spots During CPL Monday Madness!

In a 2.5 hour marathon your CPL Director Dudeman1228 bested a field of 16 to take the top spot during this weeks CPL Monday Madness on Full Tilt.

Verbal was on the ropes with 5 folks left...but with the help of Quad Kings while Billy68 hit his Ace high flush on the river....he bolsted his chip stack enough to last him to heads up against Lokiman...and to finish the match a typical heads up....AQ over AJ for the win.

Item to note....the CPL took the top 4 spots in tonights No Limit Hold Em match!!

In HORSE news the WSPL director Soundman1 took the top spot over the CPL's LazyRazr....
This game is under protest however as we are positive that the Full Tilt program was stuck during the RAZZ heads up....as it seemed to go on and on and on and on and on and on without any chips really moving from one player to another.  Could it be a bug in the Full Tilt program?  You combine a private tournament, plus only 5 entrants, HORSE, a Clown, and a Frog...and you get.....the never ending RAZZ round!!!

Congrats to Soundman1 for the big win...and for stopping a complete shutout of the WSPL tonight.

Pam 'Black Widow' Muldoon Claims Victory in CPL Spring TOC!

In the longest CPL Tournament of Champions in CPL history (7 hours 29 min), Pam 'Black Widow' Muldoon outlasted 10 other CPL TOC qualifiers to win the 2009 Spring Session TOC!

Congrats Pam!

This finish is the first TOC ticket for Black Widow and was accomplished with a combination of patience along with some wonderfully timed catches.  Black Widow was seeded #5 going into the TOC and was having a great CPL session going into the TOC.  This solid play continued through into the TOC and at one point in the TOC Black Widow had about 45% of the chips in play!!  But a runaway victory was not in the cards for Black Widow as she had to fight for her tournament life in the later rounds of the TOC.  In the end it was Black Widow versus Greg 'NewLife' Durand in heads up play with NewLife having a slight chip advantage at the beginning of heads up play.  This was until Black Widow shoved all in with a club flush draw and was called by NewLife only to see Black Widow catch her flush on the river.  This crippled NewLife and a few hands later Black Widow was crowned Champion as her A-7 dominated NewLife's A-6!

This was a great overall TOC with hours and hours of play taking place before the first player was eliminated!  This longer structure benefited Black Widow as it took its toll on the top 4 seeds, as none of the top 4 seeds made it into the CPL TOC Ticket spots (Top 3).

The 3 TOC Ticket Spots go to:
Black Widow
NewLife
Malinda 'Nemesis' Cardenas

Congrats to all 3 TOC Ticket winners!  Now go to Running Aces and take down some big cash!!

NewLife took chips early in the TOC due to a mishap by Bud 'The Monster' Abbott and in the later rounds of the TOC became very agressive to take a number of chips as play tightened up. Way to go NewLife!

Nemesis was blinded down for the first 90 minutes of the TOC as she was flying back from Salt Lake City on the morning of the TOC, and was seeded 10th going into the TOC, however this did not hinder Nemesis from battling back and methodically accumulating more and more chips.  As she progressed into the later rounds the TOC Ticket spot was within reach and was achieved as she outlasted the #1 seed Bill 'Comeback Kid' Lanoux!  Nemesis is proof positive that anything is possible in the CPL TOC all you need is a chip and a chair!!  Congrats Nemesis!

Thanks to Everyone for another GREAT CPL Session!

Below are the results from the 2009 CPL Spring Session TOC:

1-Pam 'Black Widow' Muldoon--TOC Ticket to Running Aces
2-Greg 'NewLife' Durand--TOC Ticket to Running Aces
3-Malinda 'Nemesis' Cardenas--TOC Ticket to Running Aces
4-Bill 'Comeback Kid' Lanoux
5-Mike 'Blind Me Down' Behr
6-Mike 'Unabomber' Bowman
7-Bud 'The Monster' Abbott
8-Mark 'Verbal' Cardenas
9-Steve 'The Chaser' Bennewitz

CPL Directors record first "Double Cash" in Monday Madness

It was bound to happen and happened on week 3.

We're talking, of course, about "double cashing" in Monday's "CPL Monday Madness!". Each Monday at 8:30 pm central time we (along with the WSPL) host two private games on FullTilt (password is always CPL, so come join us) - one No-Limit Holdem and one HORSE.

From the get go, talk had circulated about who would be the first to "double cash" - cashing in both of an evening's games. As mentioned - it happened this past Monday when BOTH CPL Directors - Mark "Verbal" Cardenas and Karaoke Phil double cashed.

Holdem saw 13 players sign up with Verbal nailing 3rd place and Karaoke riding his 355 chips at the start of the final table to a 2nd place finish - kudos to ShortBusJo from the WSPL who took down the win.

HORSE - for the erudite players among us - had a more select group of 8 players. Verbal again took 3rd, with Karaoke taking down the win.

The next milestone will have to be the "double win".

Oh, and the password (as always) is: CPL

Bud "The Monster" Takes Down CPL Week 11! TOC Seats Confirmed!

In a good ole' fashioned butt kicking...Bud 'The Monster' took apart the CPL during Week 11 and added another 1500 chips to Bud's chip stack for the TOC on 4-4-09.

The Monster took the lead early and road the wave of big chip stack all the way up to the heads up match against Verbal.

This Jamie Gold type play hasn't been seen since JJ Gold played in the CPL!!  It was gate to gate and when heads up play began The Monster had a 4 to 1 chip lead over Verbal....it was only a few hands into the heads up play when it was declared a victory.

Bud took his rags to riches game to new heights during Week 11, calling premium cards with off suit connectors and scoring!!  It was quite the show!  Congrats Bud on a great win!

CPL Honorable mention goes to Jeff "Matusow" Matson who went out on the CPL Point bubble going all in with "The Murano" pocket 9's...only to get called from the small blind by The Monster who caught an Ace in the door on the flop and ended Matusow's run in the Spring Session of the CPL.

CPL Honorable mention also goes to Bill "Comeback Kid" Lanoux for scoring his record breaking 133.70 points in one session!!

Congrats to all of the CPL Members and the 11 who moved on to the CPL Tournament of Champions on 4-4-09!
