Gene Crowned Champion of the Winter Session 2008!

The 2008 Winter Session of the Tournament of Champions was everything we expected it would be! Tough, spirited poker was played by all of the 16 CPL members during the 5 hour 20 min tournament....but in the end only one must be crowned Champion...and that is Gene Milne!!

Gene showed exceptional patience throughout the TOC. This coupled with some early aggression gave him an early chip lead at the lower table. Gene continued his winning ways throughout the TOC winning pot after pot, then slipping into the shadows until he would strike again. Some may even consider his play to be secretive... deceptive....even deadly....this is why Gene will forever be known in the CPL as

Gene "Ninja" Milne.

Once The Ninja made it to the final table and into the Canterbury Ticket rounds...he found himself in no time heads up against Damon for the Championship. At this point The Ninja had a huge chip lead and Damon only lasted 20 min before it was all over.

There were several winners at the TOC however, as the CPL will be sending a total of five members to the Canterbury $200+30 tournament within the next few weeks! We're looking forward to one of the CPL members cashing in the big score at Canterbury for about $12,000! The CPL's four other Canterbury Ticket Winners were:
